How to Convert HEIC to JPG Without Uploading Your Photos
Turn an iPhone HEIC photo into a JPG in your browser, choose a quality setting and check the result before sharing.
A form asks for a JPG, but the photo on your iPhone ends in .heic. You do not need to take a screenshot or change the file name. Kırpmadan's HEIC to JPG tool converts one HEIC or HEIF image at a time on your device, so the photo itself is not uploaded for conversion.
Why use this approach?
Changing a file extension does not change its format. A real conversion decodes the original image and saves a new JPG that other software can read. This is useful for an application form, an email attachment or a device that cannot open your original photo. Keep the HEIC as your original and use the JPG as a sharing copy.
Step by step
- Open HEIC to JPG and select Choose HEIC photo. Pick one .heic or .heif file from your device.
- Wait for the converted preview to appear. Larger photos may take longer, especially on a phone.
- Start with the default 92% JPG quality. If you need a smaller file, lower the slider gradually and wait for the conversion to finish again.
- Check the preview, orientation and displayed file size. Select Download JPG when the result is ready.
- Open the downloaded JPG before attaching it. If a website has a size limit, check the saved file against that limit.
Example: an upload form accepts JPG only
Convert the HEIC first and try the resulting JPG. If the form also requires a file smaller than 1 MB, conversion alone may not meet that requirement. Open the JPG in Image Compressor, reduce its file size, and inspect fine details before submitting. Use Image Resizer only if the form also specifies pixel dimensions.
Will the JPG have exactly the same quality?
JPG uses lossy compression. A high setting can preserve a similar appearance, but it is not a promise of an identical image or a smaller file. Raising quality to 100% cannot restore detail that was absent in the original. Compare faces, small lettering and smooth colour transitions in the downloaded copy.
What happens to Live Photos and extra information?
This tool produces a still JPG. It does not export a Live Photo's motion or sound, and it is not an archive of all the information in the original file. If a HEIC contains multiple images, the current converter uses the first converted image. Keep the original if its metadata, additional frames or editing options matter to you.
If the photo does not convert
Confirm that you selected an actual HEIC or HEIF file rather than a different format with a renamed extension. Try another original photo and an updated browser. A damaged file or unsupported variation may not decode here. If a large image is slow, keep the page open and finish one conversion before selecting the next.
